The mission here at The Heights Church is S.E.E.D.S. We want to see people Saved-Equipped-Empowered-Delivered-Serving.
For Heights Kids, here is what that looks like.
Saved – We want Kids to know that God loves them and has a great plan for their lives. (John 3:16)
Equipped – Encourage and reward scripture memorization. Teach how to apply them in everyday life. Teach them about the role of the Holy Spirit as our guide and comforter.(John 16:13)
Empowered – Leading kids into the presence of God by encouraging them to operate in prayer, prophetic, worship, preaching, laying on of hands, etc. Teach kids that they have an identity in Christ and through that identity, releasing and imparting ministry to them. (1 Cor 12:27-31)
Delivered –Helping Kids discern that there is a spiritual battle going on for their soul and teaching them to put on the Full Armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-18)
Serving – Encouraging them to put others ahead of themselves. Help them understand that they are a part of God’s church and allowing them to serve in class settings. Providing outreach opportunities with parent involvement and being a good example of a servant in the house of God as well as in the community.
Our infants and toddlers learn that they are a part of God’s family and he loves them. They begin a basic understanding that the Bible is God’s book and we should trust what it says. They learn that they can connect with God through prayer, worship & the Bible.
Our K1 class is encouraged to memorize scripture and learn basic bible stories. They begin to learn the importance of hiding God’s Word in our hearts. (Psalm 119:11)
This class focuses on building the kids’ knowledge of Bible stories and characters in order to reinforce topics of Faith, Miracles, God’s Armor, the Holy Spirit, Salvation and more. They also commit to monthly scripture memorization and we encourage them to know the Books of the Bible. This age is also when the kids start engaging more in praise and worship during class time.
